Can I earn WestJet points on Sunwing Vacations packages?

Yes, as of September 9, WestJet Rewards members will earn 1 WestJet point per $1 spent on their individual share of the base package price. Note that taxes, fees and charges are not eligible for WestJet points accrual. Members are eligible to earn on all regular package bookings; they will not earn points on e-packages or group bookings.

How can I earn WestJet points?

To earn points on a vacation package booking, a unique WestJet Rewards ID must be provided for each passenger on the booking. Sunwing Vacations guests can add WestJet Rewards IDs:  When making a new booking through sunwing.ca  When updating an existing booking through Manage My Bookings on sunwing.ca  When checking in for an outbound or return WestJet flight on the Sunwing website, the Sunwing mobile app or directly on westjet.com

New members can join at westjet.com/joinsunwing. You will need to set a password and will also be prompted to set up two-factor authentication to help protect future access to your account.

Yes, as of September 9, members will earn tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend on eligible packages, at a rate of 20% of their individual share of the vacation package price (excluding taxes, fees and charges).

WestJet points can be used toward the purchase of additional checked bags and seat selection on Sunwing packages. Cabin upgrades cannot be purchased directly from Sunwing, but when offered by WestJet through digital check-in, members may be able to pay with points if they have a sufficient points balance to cover the total amount owed.

If WestJet points have been used as a form of payment and a change or cancellation is permitted, please contact the Sales Centre at 1-877-786-9464 to make changes to your reservation. Your points may be returned to your account if the change or cancellation results in a refund to the original form of payment. Change or cancellation fees may apply.

Can I use my WestJet points to book a vacation package for someone else if I am not travelling?

Yes. To help protect account security, bookings made for someone else using your WestJet points must be completed directly by the WestJet Rewards member by calling the Sales Centre at 1-877-786-9464.
