At Planet Hollywood Costa Rica An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort, I was treated like a celeb! From the applause entrance and signature purple drink to the beautiful accommodations, it truly felt like a luxurious home away from home. Plus, as the resort’s more intimate, I was able to try every cuisine – my favourites were the steakhouse and tex-mex restaurant. I also went on the ultimate hiking experience visiting blue waterfalls, swimming in natural springs and seeing wildlife up close on the Sensoria excursion with Sunwing Experiences. Travelling solo, I always felt safe – from the transfers to the resort and my excursion – and everyone was extremely friendly and kind, so I highly recommend it for those going solo!

Grand Bavaro Princess is a must-visit for families this winter. If you’re looking for a chill vibe where kids and parents can rejuvenate, reconnect and explore, this hotel is that place. Everything about this property is stunning – the décor in the restaurants and common areas are magazine worthy, the white-sand beaches and stunning blue water will make your Instagram followers envious and the rooms are beyond spacious, starting at 710 square feet (bigger than the average Toronto condo!). Plus, the kids can get their fix sipping virgin Pina Coladas at the splash pad, playing at the kids club and discovering wildlife in the Eco Zone.

While vacationing at Grand Bavaro Princess with my family – kids, parents and grandparents – one afternoon we spent some time at Family Club at Grand Bavaro Princess where the kids could check out the larger water slides and splash pad area. While guests can purchase a day pass, families can also book Family Club at Grand Bavaro Princess which gives them unlimited access to the water slides and optional swim-out suites as well. We didn’t head out on any excursions this visit but I would highly recommend Saona Island for families of any age… it’s definitely a must-do!

My sister and I had an amazing vacation at Riu Tequila and would absolutely recommend this resort for a girls’ getaway. It’s just a few steps from the beach and a short drive to Playa del Carmen – so exploring the area is never an issue of access – and vacationers can make the most of the resort’s Stay at 1, Play at 3! privileges with Riu Yucatan and Riu Playacar nearby, enjoying the pools, bars and socializing! Plus, there’s a wide selection of meal options and the food is delicious, so we always found something we loved. If you’re looking for a spot this winter, Riu Tequila is great for its friendly staff, impeccable service and picturesque settings.

Bachelorette extravaganzas at Platinum Yucatan Princess

I stayed at Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites Resort and Spa for my bachelorette and had the best time with my closest friends. From the delicious food (with all the guacamole) to the immaculate grounds, it was the perfect place to stay for some much-needed rest and relaxation (and fun!) before the big day. There’s so much to love about this resort but our favourite was the tranquil pool – ideal for soaking up the sun while enjoying cocktails in a relaxing environment. We also loved that we had access to the Princess properties nearby, so when we felt like dancing or going to the sports bar, we were only a quick and convenient shuttle ride away.
