Where it all started

Despite sharing the same hometown, Lauren and Rob’s love story began online. Lauren made the first move and added Rob on MSN and the pair began chatting online day and night. Finally, Rob asked Lauren to meet in person and planned a romantic first date at their local park. Since the pair had spent so much time talking online, in-person their conversation flowed effortlessly. Rob remembers being stunned by how beautiful Lauren was and for Lauren, it was love at first sight.

Ten years of dating flew by before Rob popped the question. His proposal was everything Lauren dreamt it would be; an intimate celebration with just the two of them in their home. He surprised Lauren by hiding an engagement ring on their Christmas tree and once she found it the rest was history.

Planning the wedding

Long before their engagement, Lauren and Rob decided they wanted to tie the knot in the tropics. They’d gone on many vacations together, but one destination stood out in particular: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Everything about this vacation spot appealed to them from its beautiful beaches and incredible food to its vibrant culture and nightlife.

The happy couple had visited Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas twice prior to getting married there and fell in love with the resort’s picture-perfect facilities overlooking the ocean and friendly staff. After their first visit, they were certain they had to get married there.

Day details

On November 8, 2018, Lauren and Rob got married beneath a gazebo against the backdrop of breathtaking mountain and ocean views. After saying “I do”, the party moved to the beach for a private reception by the sea. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a moonlit reception decorated with luminous lanterns where they toasted to new beginnings with shots of tequila and shared heartfelt speeches before hitting the dancefloor.

For both Lauren and Rob, the highlight of their big day was the first look which took place in a secluded area of the resort with their photographer. This experience allowed the couple to share a special moment together, provided an opportunity for unique candid photos and eased their nerves allowing them to relax and enjoy their ceremony.
