Real Wedding: Sheniqua & Ejaz

Where it all started

Sheniqua and Ejaz’s love story began in their hometown of Montreal. The pair hit it off instantly; Ejaz thought Sheniqua was cute and family-oriented and she thought he was fun to be around. For their first date, Ejaz asked Sheniqua out for dinner and a movie – a classic date night combination – and the pair instantly bonded over their love of Marvel movies.

Years of dating flew by and the couple headed to the Dominican Republic to celebrate a friend’s wedding. While hanging out with friends one evening, Sheniqua couldn’t help but notice that Ejaz was acting strange. The pair went back to their room for a late-night dip in their Jacuzzi but his odd behaviour persisted and Sheniqua decided it was time for bed. As she began getting out of the tub she turned around to see if Ejaz was joining her, only to find him on one knee asking her to spend forever together with a glistening engagement ring!

Planning the wedding

Ejaz always knew that he wanted to get married in a tropical paradise but Sheniqua was worried that a destination wedding would be stressful. After extensive research filled with rave reviews and stunning photos, the couple chose to tie the knot in Mexico, a destination they had yet to visit. They decided Riu Caribe in Cancun was the best place to host their big day as it was an ideal fit for their style and budget, offering the perfect setting for their fairytale wedding day.

Day details

On September 21st, 2018, Sheniqua and Ejaz said “I do” overlooking the ocean during a seaside ceremony on a picturesque white-sand beach in Cancun. The couple exchanged their vows under a flowing altar decorated with sparkling beads to match the bride’s glamorous crystal headband and other chic accessories.

The newlyweds both agreed their favourite moment of the day was their casual yet glamorous ceremony. Sheniqua was in awe with how everything came together from the spectacular décor and idyllic tropical weather and Ejaz loved watching his breathtaking bride walk down the sandy aisle surrounded by their nearest and dearest.
