Real Wedding: Czerysh & Psalm
Where it all started
Czerysh and Psalm met in church when they were just 15 years old and their relationship slowly grew from a close friendship to a loving romance. When they first met, Psalm thought Czerysh was too girly (she later proved him wrong!) and Czerysh mistook Psalm’s quiet personality for detachment at first; thinking he was too cool for school. Four years after they first met, the couple went on their very first date, which ended up being two dates in one over the course of a weekend. On the first day they hung out at Square One Shopping Centre, where they watched movies on Psalm’s phone and talked. The next day they went to a Chris Tomlin concert with several of their friends and it was there that their relationship officially evolved into romance.
After seven years of dating, Psalm planned a romantic proposal on his birthday. After lunch in Mississauga, Psalm convinced Czerysh to take a “spontaneous” day trip with him to Niagara-on-the-Lake. After spending a couple hours strolling through the town they got in the car to head back home – but Psalm had a special surprise planned. He drove them to the Niagara Airport where he had arranged a sunset helicopter ride! As the sun set over the rushing Niagara Falls he proposed, and of course she said ‘yes!’

Planning the wedding
Initially, Czerysh wanted a woodland wedding, which then changed to a city rooftop wedding. After drafting their budget and realizing how expensive a local wedding would be, the couple started thinking more and more about a destination wedding. They wanted a wedding fit for a magazine and a destination wedding meant they wouldn’t have to sacrifice their vision for cost. Psalm also wanted an intimate wedding and a destination wedding was the perfect choice for such an affair.
They chose Punta Cana for their destination after Czerysh saw beautiful photos online of the Jellyfish Punta Cana Beach venue and its rustic, bohemian vibe. After researching the venue she decided that it fit her wedding vision perfectly! Royalton Punta Cana was their resort of choice as they wanted a mid-sized, elegant yet attainable resort that also accommodates families with children.
Day details
Czerysh and Psalm said their ‘I dos’ on May 3rd, 2017 in front of 38 of their closest family and friends at Jellyfish Beach in Punta Cana. The bride walked down the aisle wearing a stunning fit-and-flare lace Katie May gown with a low back, while the groom stood at the end waiting for her in a dashing Ted Baker suit.
After exchanging their vows and being declared husband and wife, the newlyweds danced the night away at their bohemian and garden themed reception complete with fire dancers! The venue was decorated beautifully in their colour scheme of purple, peach, white and pink with hints of marsala red. Following their picture-perfect destination wedding, the couple will be exploring the romantic province of Palawan in the Philippines for their honeymoon.
