Real Wedding: Cassandra & Kevin

Where it all started

Both from the small town of Sarnia, Ontario, Cassandra and Kevin dated for six years before deciding to tie the knot. They knew from the beginning that they wanted to be together forever. Kevin popped the question during a trip to Maine. He had planned to get down on one knee during their lighthouse tour during the day, but knew Cassandra didn’t want a big, public spectacle for her proposal. So, on their return to their hotel room, he asked her to be his bride – and she said yes!

Planning the wedding

Cassandra and Kevin always knew that they wanted to have a destination wedding. They wanted to spend not just one day, but a whole week, celebrating their wedding with family and friends in paradise.

They had previously attended a destination wedding in Mexico and loved the country, so they decided that Los Cabos – which they had heard amazing things about – was the perfect destination. Riu Santa Fe provided a fun atmosphere for their guests to enjoy, plus breathtaking views of the arch for their wedding photos!

Day details

On Valentine’s Day of 2018, Cassandra walked down the sandy aisle to Kevin on the beautiful beach at Riu Santa Fe in front of 60 of their closest family and friends. The picturesque white gazebo was decorated elegantly in flowy white fabric with champagne flowers adorning either side.

For their reception, everyone moved to the resort’s open-air steak house for a night of delicious dining and dancing. The couple stayed on at the resort for an additional week after their guests returned home, where they explored the near by town and marina!
