Must-visit destinations for 2026
2026 is here and yes, we're already over winter. So naturally, we're back to scrolling through those same spots that never get old. Look, we get it. These destinations might not be the world's best-kept secrets, but there's a reason they keep topping our wish list year after year (and we're not mad about it). Whether you need some serious beach time, want to explore somewhere new, or really want to trade your snow boots for water shoes (even just for a little bit), we've hand-picked some prettttty sick locales for 2026.
Cuba
Year after year, Cuba continues to be one of the most popular vacation destinations amongst Canadians seeking a quintessential beach escape. Maybe for its iconic blend of vibrant culture, storied history, famed hospitality and laid-back island vibe? Yeah, that’s probably it. You can visit a range of gorgeous resort towns, whether you want to soak up the sun on the world-famous shores of Varadero, snorkel in the crystal-clear waters of Cayo Coco or stroll through the lush parks of Holguin.
Cancun
Cancun is always at the top of our list for must-visit destinations. With world-class resorts and endless stretches of sand, there’s something for everyone in this Mexican hot spot. Discover the iconic nightlife of downtown Cancun with a host of bars and nightclubs, or party it up poolside by a chic beachfront resort. Seeking a bit more of a private and sophisticated ambiance? Head to Playa Mujeres just outside the hustle and bustle of Cancun, or the serene shores of Riviera Maya that offer everything from sprawling family-friendly complexes to intimate adults only boutique hotels.
Antigua
With 365 beaches, you’ll never run out of options for places to lay down your beach towel in Antigua. The breathtaking island once acted as refuge for pirates with its sheltered bays and calm waters, and today is a favourite destination amongst luxury seekers and sophisticated vacationers. In addition to being a beach oasis, Antigua is also an adventurer’s playground with prime conditions for water sports – especially sailing. That in mind, Antigua Sailing Week is making its annual return. Visit between April 22 through April 26 to take part in the festivities of this legendary regatta!
Saint Lucia
With its majestic twin Pitons, magical rainforests and unique volcanic hot springs, Saint Lucia is a perfect choice for those looking to explore somewhere off the beaten path. Located in the Eastern Caribbean, the island is home to exotic landscapes that are straight out of a postcard. Take a catamaran cruise along the coast, past the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Pitons and to several popular snorkelling spots before visiting the world’s only drive-in volcano. Looking for a bit more adventure? Hike through the rainforest as you keep an eye out for exotic species or zipline above the rainforest canopy.
