Hidden gems for your picture-perfect wedding photos
When you’re tying the knot in the tropics, there’s no shortage of breathtaking options for where to take your wedding photos around the resort, from the beach to the pool. If you’re looking for photography locations that are off the beaten path, we’re here to help! We rounded up some of our favourite hidden gems for your destination wedding photos.
French Cloisters in Nassau, Bahamas
Hidden with the lush landscapes of the Versailles Gardens on Nassau’s Paradise Island are the French Cloisters. The structure was originally from a 14th-century monastery and was brought over to The Bahamas from Europe in the early 1900s to be reassembled piece by piece on what was then a private estate. The ancient-looking structure surrounded by breathtaking tropical gardens provides a perfect setting for your destination wedding photos.
Devil’s Bridge in Antigua
One of Antigua’s most famous landmarks, Devil’s Bridge is a natural limestone arch formed over hundreds of thousands of years as the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashed against the shore. The bridge is surrounded by geysers and blowholes that spray water into the air, providing a dramatic backdrop for your wedding photos. We recommend visiting right before the sunset for even more of a dramatic effect!

Altos de Chavón in La Romana, Dominican Republic
Located within the luxury Casa de Campo resort complex, Altos de Chavón is a replica 16th-century Mediterranean village overlooking the Chavón River outside of La Romana. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you snap photos alongside the St. Stanislaus Church, the Grecian-style amphitheatre and the picturesque cobblestone streets. Keep in mind that you’ll need to reserve a photo session at least 72 hours in advance.
La Guarida Restaurant in Havana, Cuba
There’s no shortage of gorgeous photography spots in Havana, Cuba. One of our favourite hidden gems is La Guarida, one of the city’s most popular restaurants and event venues. There are several spots around the building that you can snap your photos, including the Room of Columns (pictured), which is a popular choice amongst fashion magazines and the Frame Terrace, which offers breathtaking sunset views.
Frenchman’s Cove in Port Antonio, Jamaica
Tucked amidst the lush landscapes of Port Antonio in Jamaica is Frenchman’s Cove. This private cove looks like it’s straight out of a postcard, featuring pristine white sands and sparkling turquoise waters that are surrounded by tropical forests on either side. It’s a great location for a trash the dress shoot or some classic beachside photos! When you’re done, you can grab a drink from the beach bar and watch the sunset over the coast.
Sac Actun in Riviera Maya, Mexico
The Riviera Maya and Cancun area is home to pristine beaches and lush jungles – but did you also know the area is home to hundreds of hidden cenotes? These natural sinkholes are formed by limestone bedrock and were used by ancient Mayan civilizations. Nowadays, they’re a popular spot for excursions and wedding photos! Sac Actun is one of our favourite cenotes for wedding photos and is actually an underground cave featuring unique rock formations. Celeb couple Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo even took wedding photos there!
