MSC Cruises welcomes guests with special needs and makes every effort to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities. In order for MSC to provide the appropriate assistance, they require guests to provide them in writing at the time of booking, but no less than 7 days prior to departure, details of any disability or medical condition which may require special accommodations, or the use of a wheelchair or other equipment or medical treatment.
Guests should dress for a cruise with MSC Cruises the same way they would for any stylish land-based resort. Casual sportswear, including shorts, lightweight pants and jogging suits, is the order of the day both at sea and ashore in hotter climates. Due to unpredictable weather, guests should bring a hat or visor and a collapsible umbrella. Also guests must ensure they bring proper clothing for visits to religious sites. In addition to this, guests will also want low-heeled, rubber soled shoes for strolling on deck, as well as comfortable walking shoes or sandals to wear. MSC makes it easy to know what to pack and what to wear when you're dining on board. There are two designations for dress codes: Smart Casual and Formal.
Smart Casual Evenings
Passenger attire should be in keeping with what would be worn to a nice restaurant at home. Inappropriate dinner wear such as pool or beach attire, shorts, ball caps and casual jeans (with fraying and/or holes), is not permitted in the dining rooms. Shoes must be worn.
Evening gown, cocktail dress, or elegant pant suit for women and tuxedo, dark suit or dinner jacket and slacks for men.
Pregnant women are not allowed to sail if more than 23 weeks pregnant by the end of the cruise. All pregnant women are required to produce a doctors or midwife's letter stating that the mother and baby are in good health, fit to travel, the estimated time of delivery (EDD) and the pregnancy is not high-risk.
Certain ports of call require tender boat transfers from ship to shore. Tendering and gangways may not be fully accessible to wheelchairs or scooters, and at times factors such as weather and sea conditions may prevent some from going ashore. Scooters cannot be taken across on the tender; guests must utilize a collapsible wheelchair. Tender ports are subject to change without notice.
