Vacation company shows 856 per cent growth
Quality service is key reason for placement on Profit 100 two years in a row
(TORONTO – JUNE 28, 2005) – For the second year in a row, Ontario’s leading vacation company has earned a place on Profit Magazine’s list of Canada’s 100 Fastest Growing Companies. Sunwing Vacations has placed #67 on the prestigious list after showing a growth of 856 per cent since their inception in 2002.
“We are very excited to be on the Profit list once again,” said Stephen Hunter, COO of Sunwing Vacations. “We started Sunwing based on the belief that people deserved a high quality travel option, and our success over the last three years has confirmed that belief.”
The company’s immediate expansion plans include the launch of Sunwing Airlines, an all-inclusive leisure airline that will fly travellers on the company’s vacation packages. The airline will have its inaugural flight on November 17 on a new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft, one of the most fuel-efficient, safest and comfortable aircraft in the skies today. Continuing the Sunwing mandate of high quality, the airline will set a new industry standard for customer service and safety.
Sunwing Vacations offers all-inclusive holiday packages and charter flights to Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and the U.K. Flights depart from Toronto, Ottawa and London. In 2004, Profit Magazine listed Sunwing as the #10 Fastest Growing Company in Canada. Since launching the Sunwing brand in 2002, over 400,000 passengers have travelled with Sunwing Vacations making it one of Ontario’s largest tour operators.
