Sunwing’s North Bay flights prove a big hit !
Toronto - April 4, 2012
Recognizing the importance of continuing to provide flights from smaller regional airports to sun destinations, this past winter Sunwing added North Bay, Ontario to its list of departure gateways thereby offering even more Canadians the convenience of being able to fly from “their doorstep”. Flights from North Bay Jack Garland Airport (www.northbayairport.com) to Varadero, Cuba commenced on December 20th, 2011, carrying many excited travellers from northern Ontario weekly until early April 2012. With the departure of the last flight on April 3rd, 2012 Sunwing wrapped-up an extremely successful inaugural winter season for the series.
Jack Santerre, Airport Manager at North Bay Airport, expressed his appreciation for Suwning’s flights. “The convenience and ability to fly from North Bay Airport on Sunwing charter flights to the south has made our passengers’ vacations more enjoyable and relaxing and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Sunwing next winter.”
Due to the exceptional success and great response from both travel agents and consumers, Sunwing will continue to offer flights from North Bay for Winter 2012/2013 and is excited to have already released its schedules for the upcoming season. Weekly flights to Cancun/Riviera Maya will be offered from North Bay from December 2012 until April 2013. For those that live west of the city, flights from Sudbury to Varadero will also be available.
The brand new Sunwing 2012/13 brochure will be available by mid April , and will be loaded with new products as well as some amazing new features and deals. Groups deals and early booking vacation packages are already available, with prices starting from as little $1095 + taxes for a seven night all inclusive vacation in a five star resort in Riviera Maya from North Bay.
All flights will be operated aboard the “High Frills” Sunwing Airlines, where passengers are treated to the award winning Champagne Service, which includes many perks and extras such as a complimentary bon voyage glass of champagne, a choice of hot meals for lunch and dinner served with wine, hot towel service, free headsets for in-flight entertainment, first run movies, comfortable leather seating, and more. For just $40 more per flight, travellers can upgrade to Sunwing’s Elite Plus service, which features advance seat selection, a separate check-in at the majority of airports, advance boarding, 30 kg baggage allowance, and seats with extra legroom.
“We’d like to thank the North Bay Airport and the City of North Bay for their cooperation, as well as all travel agents for their tremendous support. The success of the program would have not been possible without the combined efforts we received from each of them” said Daryl Mc Williams – VP Sales and marketing for Sunwing Vacations.
