Sunwing scores again as one of Canada's fastest growing companies

Sunwing Travel Group has again been named one of Canada’s 100 fastest growing companies by the influential magazine Profit 100 – the only travel and tourism-related company to do so.

This marks the third consecutive time the company has made it to the prestigious annual list, which features a wide array of corporations including engineering and construction, tech sector and financial services. Sunwing is in 34th position after showing an increase in sales of 1800% in the past five years, from $14 million in 2002 to $259 million in 2007.

The Sunwing Travel Group comprises a leisure travel company and airline, Sunwing Airlines, which this winter will operate an expanded fleet of 15 Boeing 737s. The company offers affordable, accessible packages to sunny spots in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. For winter 2008/09 there will be flights from 29 Canadian cities to 34 destinations. Plus, in the summer, the company operates a comprehensive network of domestic flights.

The company is privately owned by the Hunter family.
