What do you recommend for kids as a carry on?
It really depends on your child’s age. Kids under two or three will have a tough time wearing a large backpack or rolling their own suitcase through the airport. For pint-sized toddlers, a small daypack that doesn’t weigh them down is ideal. It probably won’t carry much more than headphones, crayons and a few small toys, but it will help your child feel independent. Bigger kids can usually manage both a personal item and a small carry-on that’s on wheels. And keep in mind that four wheels are much easier than two! I personally prefer carry-on luggage that has expansion options just in case you bring back more than you take so you can check an extra bag instead of buy a new one altogether.
